Our PAtron

Sir Ben Ainslie is patron of the RCYC Sailing Trust. 

Sir Ben grew up in our local waters, in Restronguet, a creekside village near Falmouth. He also became the only sailor ever to be crowned ISAF World Sailor of the Year three times (1999, 2002 & 2008) and British Yachtsman of the Year five times (1999, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2008). Sir Ben He won medals at five consecutive Olympics from 1996 onwards, including gold at the four consecutive Games held between 2000 and 2012. Today, he is involved in the SailGP circuit and lead of the Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team and as Team Principal and Skipper of INEOS Britannia, the British Challenger for the 37th America's Cup.

Our Trustees are passionate about giving young people the opportunity to experience time on and around the beautiful waters of Falmouth.

As local sailors, water-appreciators and business people, the Trustees work to ensure that young people, who otherwise would not be able to experience time on the water, are provided with often life-enhancing time exploring and engaging with Falmouth's unique watery environment.
